JOIN/RENEWJoin or Renew Membership - see steps below Whether you're interested in patrolling, joining as a Nipper family or becoming a social member - there's an opportunity for everyone at Jan Juc SLSC. There are membership options to suit everyone – see the Club Fee Schedule 2026-2027 for a full list of membership categories and fees. Membership is valid from 1 July to 30 June each year which includes clubhouse access and insurance coverage for both training and competition. It is essential that membership is renewed by 1 July annually. To join or renew your membership, please follow the guidelines below to ensure your application is processed smoothly. Please note that club programs can only be accessed once your application or renewal has been fully processed. Working With Children Check (WWCC) Requirement All members aged 18 and over (excluding Social members) MUST hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) listing Jan Juc SLSC and Life Saving Victoria. This requirement includes nipper parents/guardians and Life Members. The WWCC is free for volunteers and valid for five years. Membership System Our membership system is managed nationally by Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA), and each member can only have one single membership record. If you encounter issues accessing your membership, please contact our office for assistance. DO NOT submit a new application using a slightly altered date of birth or shortened name as this will delay your membership renewal while we work to merge duplicate records. If you were previously a member at another club (in Victoria or interstate, even for Nippers many years ago), you’ll need to transfer your membership from that club. Do not submit a new application. If you’re unsure of your membership status, you can contact Life Saving Victoria for assistance at (03) 9676 6930. Steps to Renew Your Membership Step 1: Hold/Obtain a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) Ensure your WWCC lists Jan Juc SLSC and Life Saving Victoria and is current. VIT holders must notify WWCC of their involvement with our club and provide a copy of their current VIT card, including expiry date. Important: Membership applications WILL NOT be processed until the Club receives verification of your WWCC from the Department of Government Services. You will be unable to register for any programs (including Nippers) without a finalised membership. Note that teachers and police officers are not exempt (teachers: refer to the WWCC Guide for steps on linking your VIT to WWCC). Step 2: Join or Renew and Pay Membership Fees If you need to add a new member to your Family Group, you MUST renew your existing Family Group first, then go back to add your new member. Step 3: Receive Membership Confirmation After submitting your renewal or application, you will receive two automated emails from noreply@sls.com.au. These messages are generated by the membership system and do not confirm that your membership has been accepted. If there are any outstanding membership requirements (eg WWCC, incorrect fee payment), the Club will contact you directly. Membership applications may take 3–5 business days to review and approve. Once your membership has been fully processed and approved, you will receive a confirmation email from info@janjucsurfclub.com.au. Step 4: Register for Programs if Applicable After receiving your confirmation of membership email, you are eligible to register for courses (SRC, Bronze Medallion, First Aid, IRB, etc). Should your membership include Nippers, you will also receive a link to register your Nipper/s in their appropriate age category. This registration must be completed for your Nipper/s to participate in the program. Step 5: Nippers - Complete your Preliminary Swim Assessment Complete your Preliminary Swim Assessment at either the club day Sunday 11th October, 2026 or at your local swim club/pool. If you are not completing your Preliminary Swim Assessment at the Club Assessment Day, a copy of the completed Preliminary Swim Assessment form must be emailed to info@janjucsurfclub.com.au to finalise your registration. Please do not provide the completed form to your Team Manager. Please note: Nipper/s will be unable to participate until the Preliminary Swim Assessment has been received with the Nipper Registration. Step 6: Nippers - Complete registration Register your Nipper from the age group link provided in your letter of membership confirmation. For any questions, please contact our office at info@janjucsurfclub.com.au. The office is open Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday between 10am – 4pm.
