WELCOME TO JAN JUC SLSCNew memberships have closed for season 2024/2025Our new season memberships will open on 1st July 2025. Established in 1963, the Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) is a 100% volunteer run organisation committed to serving the communities of Jan Juc, Torquay and surrounding areas. With membership exceeding 1,200, Jan Juc SLSC is solely responsible for the lifesaving patrols on Jan Juc Beach. The Club relies entirely on membership fees, fundraising and generous donations to support its lifesaving services and deliver high-quality education and training programs. Our three major fundraising events - the Grand Final Eve Luncheon, the Golf Classic and the Danger Ocean Swim Series are vital to the Club’s operations and are a testament to the collective effort and commitment of our entire membership. Jan Juc SLSC has a proud and successful history of competition at both state and national levels. Our excellence spans across all areas of surf life saving including Patrol and Lifesaving, Pool Lifesaving and Rescue events. The Club consistently achieves strong results in Victorian patrol proficiency competitions and our training and education programs are regarded as among the best in the state. This ensures that our community is protected by some of the most skilled and capable surf lifesavers in Victoria. A cornerstone of our community engagement is the Surf Education Program, one of the most highly regarded in the state. Targeting children aged 6 to 12, the program teaches essential skills including surf awareness, water safety, basic first aid and rescue techniques. Participants learn how to identify hazards such as rips and waves and gain confidence through surf lifesaving sports such as swimming and board races, beach flags, relays, and sprints. While some children participate as part of a holiday experience, many go on to become fully qualified surf lifesavers - contributing back to both the Club and the broader community. Go Juc!
