swim assessment

Preliminary Swim Assessment

Evidence of a nipper’s swimming competency is mandatory and must be provided before participating in any water-based activities (refer to the bottom of this page for links to swim assessment forms). Note swim assessment requirements have recently been updated by Surf Life Saving Australia and are outlined in the tabled below:

Evidence can take the form of:

  1. Return of this Preliminary Swim Assessment form to the Club Office after it is signed by a parent AND a qualified coach, swim teacher or lifeguard;
  2. A Nipper’s Competition Skills Evaluation (S-Badge) from the 2022/2023 season – no assessment is required but a parent will need to indicate that the nipper can still meet the requirements by completing either this:

3. Assessment by The Torquay Sands Swim School on 19th September 2023 9am-1pm, bookings are essential at swimschool@thesandstorquay.com

VicSwim or attending swim lessons would be more beneficial to for kids that are not able to pass the preliminary swim assessment.
